What is UDFM?
ULTRA DEEP FIELD MUSIC/MEDIA PRODUCTIONS is a result of a merging of former Ethnic Fusion Sound and UDFM, both founded by musician composer producer Ricardo Hambra. Here follows a statement regarding the philosophy Ricardo has as a searchlight for this musical path.
"In this Ultra Modern Age we're living it's necessary to recover our past roots, in order to understand in a better way the original sources from all this amazing music we can enjoy now from all over with just a click.
As in the Classical music field, Ethnic music has very deep an ancient roots. One example among many, Indian Music has it's origins thousands of years ago, and it's development and levels of sophistication are still healthy and alive in our time, as a matter of study and rejoice for millions of people.
In ULTRA DEEP FIELD MUSIC, we combine the ancient world music that comes from cultures as diverse as Indian, Mediterranean, African, European. the Americas with Cuban, Brazilian, Argentinean, North American styles. with 21st century trending technological styles like Chillout Techno Ambience Electronica Tech House Trance and more.
It's an attempt to create an original sound, combining the wisdom and beauty of the many different ancient roots we can find as a heritage in our days, along with modern genres.
We are conscious of the limitations, specially regarding the impossible task of getting to know every single music style available in this world; it's absolutely impossible!
Even though, UDFM project tries to look for an approach and building bridges between the music styles of the present and the past.
The idea is not just 'to put together' sounds, melodies, rhythms, etc. with little or no music research at all. Our aim is to create an Alchemy, based on a reasonable - but always incomplete amount of knowledge and experience, in both ancient ethnic and modern 21st century music styles, with the commitment to achieve good quality original material.
That's our main goal. Of course it's a difficult task, but we are committed to do our best!"
